Hi, PAK Man, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

Additional tips

[edit]

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Happy Wiki-ing.Kf4bdy talk contribs

PS: This is not a bot and you did nothing to prompt this message. This is just a friendly welcome by a fellow Wikipedian.

Umm... Yeah

[edit]

Sorry about all of what just happened. You can take a look at User_talk:Billy_go_zoom#Okay to see my problem. Anyway, good luck with vandal patrol. A very fun job! Billy go zoom 05:33, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, it's okay. Just try not to do anything like that ever again. --PAK Man 05:34, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think more than anything I wanted to see how much it took to be banned, and if I would be noticed as a WOW type vandal, since Billy=Willy and Wheels=Zoom, but maybe too stretched. If no body did anything I was going to fix it myself, but I wasted valuable resources more than anything. Billy go zoom 05:36, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Wendy Bagwell

[edit]

If you will take a look at the discussion page on the Wendy Bagwell entry, you will see that I clearly indicated why it was removed. This article is one I wrote for my own website. It was lifted word for word, without permission and gives me no credit.

You can view the original version here: http://www.musicscribe.com/2005/04/wendy-bagwell-biography.html

I wrote the original article on April 10, 2005.

Wikipedia is a fine website, but not when users steal what others have written. At the very least, when I take down a violation of my copyright, that should be respected.

David Bruce Murray

I sincerely apologize for doing that. I'm fairly new at reverting vandalism, and I didn't think to check the Talk Page. I hope that you will accept my apology. It was a mistake on my part, and I admit that. From now on, I will be more careful with how I revert other people's edits. Again, I am truly sorry for what happened. --PAK Man 05:06, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's OK. I actually have a Wiki username, but I was so annoyed when I saw what had happened that I didn't take the time to sign in. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.32.117.120 (talk) 05:35, 20 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Question

[edit]

I was wondering, when all or most of the content was deleted from a page, how do you restore it without having to copy and paste the text and remove the dashes? Thank you! Wikipedian27 23:14, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Click the Edit this Page button, click on the last edit, and then click undo. Which page were you referring to? --PAK Man 23:16, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Refer

[edit]

I was referring to the one you just edited, The Bottle Rockets or something like that. Wikipedian27 23:18, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Last edit

[edit]

Where is the last edit link? Thank you! Wikipedian27 23:27, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I think I gave you bad directions earlier. Click on History. The latest edit is at the top of the page. Click on Compare Selected Versions. The one on the right is the latest edit. If you want to revert a revision instead of clicking undo, go back until the version you want to revert to is on the right. Click Edit this Page at the top of the screen. It will tell you that you are editing a prior version of the page, but edit it anyway. But if your patrolling edits on the Recent Edits page, click the link that says 'Diff' on the far left of the screen. You could also check out this link here. Hope this helps! --PAK Man 01:33, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

blocked

[edit]

The blocked period has expired. I thought that I could remove the tag. am I wrong? Vartanm 03:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's generally not appreciated to delete the tag stating that you have been blocked. I've seen it reverted on other people's pages before. PAK Man 03:19, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Thanks

[edit]

No problem. ;) I'm constantly refreshing that user's contribution page. I doubt that user realises how easy reverting their vandalism is, lol. Robotman1974 03:28, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

I didn't mean to delete the sandbox's template. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pepperboi (talkcontribs) 03:31, 23 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

That's okay. Just be more careful next time. PAK Man 03:31, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't vandalize anything. Kgb23 threw a NON-SUBST'ED vandalism 4 warning on you. Did that to me too.

[edit]

--Addict 2006 22:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Addict 2006. I was very confused as to what I had vandalized. PAK Man 22:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For your sake and own good, don't be. This Kgb23 may not be as forgiving as I am. --DId a little Vader voice, Addict 2006 23:11, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Change Username

[edit]

PAK man → PAC Man

[edit]
You know, I've never actually played Pac-Man before in my life? The reason I have this user name is because the P. A. K. are my initials. My aunt gave me this nickname when I was about a year old, and almost 20 years later, it's my internet screen name. Now you know! --PAK Man 23:25, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Insults

[edit]

I suggest that you dont use the angry tone of voice and assail other users accusing them of vandalism for their attempts to edit pages. This [1] is not vandalism. However your lack of courtesy smacks of harrasment. thanks!75.138.68.170

First of all, the tone was not angry. Secondly, I never, in any way, shape or form, assailed you. I was simply reverting what was deleted on your talk page. Regardless of what happens, users are not encouraged to delete any content from their talk page, unless it is defamatory in one way or the other. If you had posted your concerns after what others had said, instead of deleted it, I would not have reverted your edits. I had nothing to do with reverting your edits on the Fedorov Avtomat page. But I appreciate you bringing up your concerns with me. --PAK Man 20:23, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AIV on J. Hodapp

[edit]

Thank you for making a report about J. Hodapp (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. —dgiestc 20:15, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason I reported him was because he had just vandalized shortly before the report. But thank you anyway for informing me. --PAK Man 20:19, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

[edit]

Thanks for the revert of vandalism on my talk page, I am not used to reporting anything and so was busy on the Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism notice board. I guess this stuff happens from time to time, I've just never been logged in when it has. . .anyways, thanks. R. Baley 02:10, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's no problem. Vandal patrol is a new little hobby I've picked up, and it's something I enjoy doing. --PAK Man + 21:30, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Categories - Flowers by seasons

[edit]

Hi, I have removed the speedies from these categories since there are two actions that need to be taken first:

  • The categories need to be emptied to avoid red cats appearing in the articles.
  • A 'See also' needs to be created linking to the new Lists on each of the pages so that the flowers can be found. TerriersFan 22:04, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll do that. Thanks! --PAK Man + 16:29, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi PAK Man. Using {seealso|} is not appropriate for the change you are making. That places a "see also" at the head of the article and is used for disambiguation. The appropriate placement for the list of seasonal flowers is in a "See also" section at the bottom of the article. I fixed Bloodroot, but you could consider fixing your other edits. Heathhunnicutt 19:47, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Woops. I'll fix that immediately. Sorry! --PAK Man + 21:34, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right on! Thanks for you work! Heathhunnicutt 17:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pete Capella

[edit]

Yes, he does, however, I also noticed this and Pete did confirm that he did some Pokemon voices on the the show, as said on his my space. Oh by the way, Pete Capella and Crag Blair are two different people if you also want to know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MegaHL90 (talkcontribs)

Did he happen to state what roles he did play? --PAK Man + 19:40, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on List of Chi Psi brothers, by Scoutersig, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because List of Chi Psi brothers fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Stub list that has never been updated. Is currently on the main Chi Psi page in full.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting List of Chi Psi brothers, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate List of Chi Psi brothers itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:33, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Capella

[edit]

Regarding your question, no, he didn't talk about his roles; actually, I kinda blew it, since he didn't answer me the first time, so I basically said it was okay if he didn't want to say since I was doing it just for Wiki. He sent his kudos and his role list on Wiki being whack and all, but didn't mention what roles he did play.

Also, the only episodes from the list I've seen were the ones with Anthony, and I actually though Maddie Blaustine had voiced him. If I get the chance, I'll check it out again. --Batwing321 03:18, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your report to WP:AIV

[edit]

While the anon editor may be editing disruptively, your report to WP:AIV is misplaced, as it is a content dispute and not vandalism. It also doesn't qualify as a violation of WP:3RR, as the edits did not occur over a 24 hour time frame. I have warned the user in question. If the user removes the templates again, warn them using the {{subst:uw-delete3}} template, followed by the {{subst:uw-delete4}} template for a subsequent edit of the same nature. After that point, you may report the user to WP:AIV. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Caknuck 04:25, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Table in Shining Time Station

Greetings PAK Man,

I appreciate your contribution to the Shining Time Station article and I have one request. Do you think you could make another table like that for the subsection of Mr. Conductor's Thomas Tales? Thanks a bunch.

That got me laughing. Isn't that Porygon2 that that particular text was referring to? The reason given there is really unreasonable. -- Altiris Exeunt 05:58, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian English

[edit]

My edit was not vandalism. I expected it would be reverted - people do not recognize the spoken Canadian as a for of writing - but I wanted to place an example of the usage somewhere in the history of the entry on Canadianb English.

Think about it. It took me a good half hour to create the entry. It took you about one second to revert it. Clearly I was up to something more than just vandalism.

- Downes

(p.s. Unlrelated, but Wikipedia has a big problem now of people just going around and criticizing others' contributions. The point of Wikipedia is to gather the diverse contributions of many mambers, not to have a bunch of content enforcers going areound telling people what to do. If you don't like my contribution, revert it if you must, but if it doesn't resemble a pattern of obvious spamming, then don't treat it as 'vandalism' just because you don't like the mode of expression). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Downes (talkcontribs) 20:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of List of Rugrats cast members

I have nominated List of Rugrats cast members, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Rugrats cast members. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Now when I want to go on it says that I am forbidden from veiwing the site on my server. What's going on. Was I banned? And if so for what reason? The message I get looks like this.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
